Charlie Coode

Charlie’s professional background spans the military, manufacturing, financial services and consulting.

Having spent his early years as a pilot and officer in the Army, followed by 11 years in General Electric (GE), he has spent the most recent 7 years focusing on leadership and organisational culture. Whilst at GE he spent 3 years as the CEO of their consumer finance business in the Czech Republic, gaining many of the insights that led to him founding Coode Associates in 2012 and working with leadership teams on creating high-performance cultures.

Charlie’s core belief is that what differentiates a great organisation from a good one is not having the best strategy or organisational design (both easily copied), but having an aligned and high-performance leadership and a well-understood and consistent way of working across the organisation – the culture.

Focusing on the world of behaviours, mind-sets and organisational culture, Charlie advises and works with leaders and executive teams in a variety of industries. As a global thought leader, he is regularly asked to speak at conferences, panel discussions and public engagements to share his expertise and opinion on current affairs and high-performance organisational cultures. Charlie also speaks regularly at London Business School on the topics of leadership and culture.

Charlie also personally mentors a number of small businesses which are aligned with Coode Associates’ core purpose and are focused on maximising opportunities and the potential of young people.

He has lived and worked in 6 countries and speaks conversational French and Czech and now lives with his family and dog in south-west London.
